What happens to my chat?
Your WhatsApp export is parsed in your browser the moment you drop the file. Nothing leaves your device until you check out. After you pay, the chat is sent to our server over an encrypted connection, analyzed once, then deleted. The source text is gone within about 30 seconds of the analysis completing.
Do you store my messages?
No. Not temporarily beyond the run itself, not in logs, not in backups. The messages exist on our server only while the model is reading them — then they’re deleted. We don’t keep a copy and we cannot recreate them.
What DO you store?
- The generated report, once you’re signed in and choose to save it. Reports contain insights and statistics — no verbatim messages. You can delete them anytime from Settings.
- Your tracker progress for a saved report — which action items you checked off, any short notes you wrote.
- Your account basics: email, name you provided, the date you created the account.
- Payment records at our payment provider (Polar), required for tax and accounting reasons.
- Consent records: timestamped events noting when you accepted these terms and when you confirmed participation in a conversation before analysis. This is our audit trail.
Who can see my data?
During the ~30 seconds your chat is on our server, it is processed by our analysis service and the AI models we use (Anthropic). Both are under data-processing agreements that forbid using your data for training. No human at ClearMirror reads your chat. After those 30 seconds: nobody, because the source is deleted.
Can I get my report again if I lose it?
If you’re signed in when the report is generated, it’s saved to your account — open it from the dashboard anytime. If you ran an analysis without signing in and then lost the browser tab, we can’t regenerate it. The source chat is gone.
How do I delete my data?
From Settings:
- Export all of your reports as JSON for your own records.
- Delete any single report.
- Delete all of your reports.
- Delete your account — removes all reports and clears your name and email from our records. Your consent-acceptance audit is retained with your account ID removed, for legal defensibility.
The other person in the chat
The reports describe patterns involving both participants in a conversation. You’re asked to confirm, before analysis, that you were a participant in the chat and have the right to analyze it. The analysis stays private to your account — we don’t expose it to the other person or to anyone else.
GDPR / DPDP / CCPA
We process your data on the basis of your explicit consent at signup and before each analysis. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your reports or your account — this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. We never sell your data. For data-subject requests beyond the in-app deletion flow, email hello@clearmirror.app.
Changes
If we change what we collect or process, we bump a consent version and ask you to review and re-accept on your next visit. You keep using the product under the version you accepted until you accept a new one.
